Canva plugs into Perplexity Computer, turning AI research into editable designs

A new Canva connector lets Perplexity's agent build editable decks, social posts and brand kits from research — but only for paid Perplexity plans.

On 4 June 2026, Canva launched a connector for Perplexity Computer, Perplexity’s Mac-native agentic assistant. The integration lets Perplexity’s agent generate editable Canva designs — presentations, social campaigns, infographics and brand kits — from research, meeting notes and performance data it has already gathered.

The pitch is closing the gap between researching and designing. A user describes what they need, Perplexity Computer assembles a brief from web research and connected data, and Canva turns that brief into finished, editable assets without leaving the Perplexity environment. Perplexity’s Emily Jorgens framed it as letting a growing business “design right alongside the rest of its work”.

Why it matters: it is another sign that design tools are becoming places agents call into, rather than apps people open first. For Canva it extends reach into AI-native workflows; for Perplexity it adds a concrete “now do something with the research” step.

The catch is access. The connector is limited to paid Perplexity tiers — Pro, Max, Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max — so free users are shut out for now.

What to watch next: whether Canva signs similar deals with rival agent platforms, and whether the generated designs hold up beyond templated first drafts.
