Canva opens Code 2.0 to every user, adding visual editing and HTML imports

Canva's Code 2.0 lets anyone build a website or app from a prompt, then edit it like a design — and it is now open to all accounts, free ones included.

Canva rolled out Code 2.0 on 14 July 2026, opening its AI website- and app-building tool to every user, free accounts included. The pitch is simple: describe what you want in plain language, generate it, then edit the result like an ordinary Canva design rather than touching code.

The update adds three things worth noting. Visual editing lets you adjust generated pages directly — swapping images from Canva’s library, changing colours and fonts, and refining individual elements directly in the editor. HTML imports let you bring in pages started on other AI platforms and keep working. And Code 2.0 now supports real-time collaboration, plus more than 50 templates and publishing to a custom or free Canva domain.
